If there are any obstructions, patch the hole and the position of the speaker. Step 6: Carefully cut the outline drawn with a keyhole or drywall saw. Then remove the trim. Step 7: Remove the cable from the speaker output on your receiver or amplifier to the speakers. Use a high quality cable at least 16 gauge speaker wire. Leave a few feet of extra cable.
